Slow Furniture was started to live life in a more sustainable, healthy and authentic way.
Following several years in an industry where there is so much waste, I wanted to earn a living that reflected these values more closely.
Slow furniture was created out of this wish, and it is my goal to make beautiful one off pieces of furniture that are made with care and attention.
I love the thought of making something somebody else can enjoy.
My care in making the piece will, I hope, allow you to make a similar connection to it in your own home.
Made to last generations, my furniture is timeless, natural and beautiful.
By purchasing a piece, you really are supporting small and local.
All the pieces are made by me in my home workshop on the North Devon coast, and without exception are made with sustainably sourced timber.
My hope is to bring you along on this journey documenting how your piece is made, and I will be happy if I can inspire you - in some small way – to live life a little more slowly.
All Slow Furniture pieces are made from solid timber, put together with robust joinery, that will ensure it will last for generations.
We value our customers and know they want a one-off piece that is well made, so all our furniture is made by me (Paul) with the utmost care and attention.
My mission for Slow Furniture is simple:
To fulfill a passion for creating beautiful solid wood furniture in a sustainable way, for the enjoyment of others.
Good values are also at the core of Slow Furniture, these are: sustainability, craftsmanship and lifestyle.
My vision for Slow Furniture:
To make beautiful and carefully made furniture which can support my dream to live more meaningfully and sustainably.
Through my furniture making projects my hope is to inspire others to take time to slow down and to embrace each and every moment.
